Promoting Sanitation in Schools for Better Education

Unsafe latrines in schools as a barrier to education
ABOUT

Promoting Sanitation in Schools for Better Education Project

This project started in 2018 with phase one and we are now implementing phase 4 and is funded by Kindermissionswerk Germany and aimed at addressing the sanitation issues which impact on education given that children are very receptive to new ideas as they grow. Many children spend their time at school and the school practices they observe have great influence on their behavior. It is important that schools provide an environment and opportunity, which can reinforce good hygiene and sanitation practices in children and students while they are still at an impressionable age. What students learn at school will develop into good hygiene habits which will be practiced at home and pass on to their own children.
